VISITORS can look forward to the new look of the Equatorial Hotel’s Coffee Garden in June this year, after major renovation work.

Hotel general manager Tan Lay Hong said new facilities and services would be offered.

Speaking during the hotel’s business appreciation night, she said other major upgrading work was also in the pipeline.

“The work will cover the lobby and front porch as well as the other restaurants here.”

Tan said the hotel in Penang would be marking its 25th anniversary this year with special activities.

The business appreciation night was the hotel’s way of expressing gratitude for the support from various business partners.

Since the theme was ‘Dots and Bows’, many guests came dressed in polka dots and bow ties.

The night began with a cocktail reception and carnival games. Guests tried their luck at tossing rings and throwing darts, hoping to win plush teddy bears.

As the dinner began, Ray Rozells and the Jazz Hats serenaded the crowd with jazz melodies. Emcee Gilbert Khoo was also on stage to entertain the audience with his witty remarks.

Later, a lucky draw was held. A manager from Texchem, Chin Sye Chin, 30, was overjoyed after winning the first prize, a return ticket on China Southern Airlines for one person to Los Angeles.
