Kuala Gula fishermen fear development will destroy marine life habitat

A group of macaques swimming to the shore in Teluk Rubiah, Kuala Gula is a sight to behold.

FISHERMEN in Kuala Gula in Kerian district are concerned that their livelihood will be affected by a series of land clearing activities at the mangrove swamp in Teluk Rubiah.

About 6.07ha of the 500ha swampland at the bay was recently cleared to pave the way for the setting up of a shrimp farm.
