Large crowd and blocked hydrants reasons for delay in putting out fire

MALACCA: A packed street and blocked fire hydrants have been identified as a major factor that hindered the work of state Fire and Rescue Department personnel during the fire at Jonker Walk.

State Housing, Local Government and Environment committee chairman Datuk Ismail Othman said they had to deal with a street packed with stalls and people during the 11.30pm blaze on Friday night.
