NGO wants watchdog to check territorial control by taxi companies

THE Federation of Malaysian Consumers Association (Fomca) wants the Malaysia Competition Commission (MyCC) to look into the Land Public Transport Authority’s (SPAD) inability to curb the unhealthy practice of territorial control by big taxi companies at major hotels and malls in Kuala Lumpur.

Fomca secretary-general Datuk Paul Selvaraj said as the regulator, it was SPAD’s duty to ensure that there was no abuse by taxi companies that would burden consumers.
