A GROUP of fishermen in Kuala Kangkong, Alor Setar, Kedah, decided to build their own artificial fish shelters or unjang as fish breeding grounds.

Calling themselves the Kuala Kangkong Fishermen Community, the group used bamboo and coconut leaves to build the shelters to be placed about five nautical miles off the Kuala Kangkong beach.
