KUCHING: Pustaka Miri is organising a public health talk in con- junction with World Cancer Day on Feb 13.

The talk entitled ‘What Causes Cancer & How to Treat It?’ will be conducted by Dr Selva Kumar , a resident ENT specialist from Columbia Asia Hospital Miri.

The two-hour talk, which will commence at 2pm, hopes to emulate the World Cancer Day’s objective of raising collective voices in the name of improving general knowledge about cancer and dismissing misconceptions about the disease.

This year’s World Cancer Day has a tagline of ‘Debunk the Myths’.

The four myths that will be discussed are: Myth 1 - We don’t need to talk about cancer, Myth 2 - There are no signs or symptoms of cancer, Myth 3 - There’s nothing I can do about cancer and Myth 4 - I don’t have the right to cancer care.

For further information and pre-registration of attendance, contact Dorithy Dela Lawrence or Margareta Remang at 085-422 525.
