KOTA KINABALU: Sabah’s timber processing players say they are facing bleak times ahead and are asking the state to reduce by half the import fees of round logs.
Sabah Timber Industries Association (STIA) president Datuk James Hwang said the industry players were not only continuing to face the perennial shortage of round logs but also higher costs of doing business including an increase in royalties in the processing of local logs from Jan 1.
