Residents throng health carnival at Kota Kemuning

Blood donors are all smiles while donating their blood.

AROUND 500 visitors participated in the the Shaik Health Carnival: 2014 For Better Health held at the carpark area of Poliklinik Shaik in Kota Kemuning, Shah Alam.

The event, organised by Kota Kemuning Residents Association together with the clinic, was aimed at spreading awareness on the importance of health among the residents of Kota Kemuning, Bukit Rimau, Jalan Kebun and its neighbouring areas.

The event was launched by the Kemuning Residence chairman Mohd Radhi Cheah, alShaik group chief executive officer Dr Ameen Shaik and chief operating officer Dr Vythilingam Muthu Pillai.

Senior citizens were given a free blood test to check on diabetes, hypertension, chronic kidney disease, eye problems as well as free bone scanning.

The community and charity event had over 30 booths.

The National Blood Bank, the National Cancer Council (Makna) and the National Kidney Foundation were also present during the carnival.

A viral infection vaccination awareness specialist also briefed the public on the importance of viral vaccine.

NY Fitness was also there to give free Zumba lessons and body mass index (BMI) tests to people.
