RUMAH AMAN has finally opened their doors to more less fortunate children with the help of Glomac Berhad, who gave them their second home located at Sungai Buloh Country Resort recently.
The first Rumah Aman in Shah Alam was founded and opened by Abdul Rehman Dakri and his wife Mehrunessa Dakri in June 2005.
This orphanage, which provides not only a shelter for orphans but also schooling for the less fortunate, could only house about 30 children in the first home.
Now, with the second home measuring about 3,280.8sq m, we can house more than 80 children.
“We take great pride and honour in our joint efforts and endeavours with the founders of the home, as we strive to provide the children with the best education,” said Glomac group managing director and chief executive officer Datuk FD Iskandar Mansor at the launch of the second home by the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.
Also present were 42 children from the home, who received new school shoes from Glomac.
Iskandar said the company would continue to support and give help to the home.
He said with the new home, more children would be able to benefit and excel in the future.
The Selangor ruler encouraged welfare activities to be carried out to help the less fortunate in the state.
“The young are our future leaders and they must be nurtured.
“I hope that with all this help, they will be able to succeed in life,” said Sultan Sharafuddin.
He also urged the public to contribute towards other registered welfare organisations in the state.
