Future of SUPP Dayak reps hangs in balance

KUCHING: Where will the five Dayak elected representatives in SUPP go to in case the party gets deregistered by the Registrar of Societies (ROS).

Two of the party branches, Piasau and Bekenu, have gone defunct after being found guilty of committing irregularities during their respective branch elections in 2011. SUPP is also facing an uncertain future after receiving a show cause letter dated Jan 6 this year from ROS in Kuala Lumpur, asking the state’s once illustrious and oldest political party why it should not be deregistered.
