NGO urges victims of abuse and violence to attend to trauma prior to going to police

KUCHING: Victims of domestic violence, child abuse and rape should go to the hospital first where they can get in touch with the One-Stop Crisis Centre (OSCC) prior to reporting to the police and other relevant authorities.

The state OSCC chairman Datuk Lily Yong said the purpose for this was to enable physical evidence be retained and preserved by medical professionals so that it could be presented without compromise to the authorities at a later stage.
