Provide free transport to school for poor kids, Govt urged

THE state and Federal Government should consider providing free transport for underprivileged children in light of school bus operators pushing for a 30% increase in fares.

Penang Hindu Association (PHA) deputy chairman P. Murugiah said many poor parents, especially those in the rural areas, could not afford the school bus fares and this had resulted in their children not going to school.
