Grace period given to families of welfare recipients who died but still getting aid

SIBU: It has been proposed that the present six-month cut-off point in the distribution of welfare assistance in the state be extended to all Welfare Department units in the country.

Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Rohani Abdul Karim (pic) said the system had proven to be useful as it eased the burden of families of recipients who had passed away but continued to receive the monthly financial aid via their bank accounts.
