THE 13th edition of the PIP Property Expo, packed with exciting forums and highlights, is back again at the Straits Quay Convention Centre in Penang on Dec 28 and 29.
The highlight of the event will be the public registration for the state or Penang Development Corporation affordable housing schemes conducted by the state Housing Department.
Touted as the biggest property show of the year, the two-day expo will see developers showcasing a wide range of projects to the 20,000 visitors expected at the fair.
There will also be a number of interesting talks including one which delves on issues related to high-rise living in Penang and an update on Malaysia My 2nd Home (MM2H) by a Tourism Ministry official.
To date, more than 30 developers have signed up for the event.
Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng is expected at the opening of the expo on Dec 28.
The public can also update their earlier registration for low-cost and low medium-cost housing with the Housing Department at the expo.
Talks on ‘Feng Hsui’, ‘Frauds in Property Transactions’ and ‘Implications of the 2014 Budget on House Buyers’ will also be held.
A special public forum titled ‘Affordable Housing for the People, Penang’s Policy Options’ will be held after the opening ceremony at noon on the first day.
Panellists include state Housing, Town and Country Planning Committee chairman Jagdeep Singh Deo and key industry experts.
They will deliberate on the state’s proposed policies that restrict sales or transfer of low-cost and affordable houses in Penang as well as issues such as the levy on foreign purchases of properties.
