Ready-to-wear store opens

LORD’S Tailor recently opened its first Ready-to-Wear store at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, with a showcase of colourful shirts and pants designed by none other than the owners themselves.

Having been in the scene for about 39 years, Lord’s Tailors first-ever stores were in Bangsar and AmWalk Jalan Ampang.

Both shops are renowned for their made-to-measure tailoring, with the fabric, thread and buttons imported from Europe.

“Everything in the store is designed and made by us, me and my son, with the materials specially selected from Europe,” said its owner and founder Robert Loh.

Loh shared his passion for the fashion industry, explaining that he puts in a lot of effort in sourcing for fabric that is both durable and affordable for the public.

With the opening of the new store, buyers can now choose to either grab clothes off the rack or tailor-make one.

The new ready-to-wear range designed by Loh’s son ranges from casual to classic, with only 24 pieces available per design.

Meanwhile, the tailor-made corner in a special section of the store provides customers with a personalised experience.

They will also be able to pick from a selection of fabrics, such as Ermenegildo Zegna, Loro Piana, Dormeuil, Drago and Thomas Mason.

“My husband has a flair and passion for designing and I believe it shows in our products. Passion is a drive,” said Lee Lee Loh.

Both husband and wife were joined by local celebrities such as Datuk Lee Chong Wei, Amber Chia, Datuk Jimmy Choo and others at the new store’s opening ceremony.

“I have been wearing Lord’s Tailor for about 10 years now, and I love the clothes as they fit me perfectly,” said Choo.

He said Lord’s might engage international fashion designers to help bring this local brand overseas.

“Who knows, one day Lord’s Tailor may also be franchised overseas,” he added.

Currently, Lord’s is also the only fashion retail in Kuala Lumpur to carry a range of BROOKS bags by JB Brooks & Co from England.

Also on display at the store is its collection of colourful canvas carry-bags and contemporary leather bags.
