Malaysian Nature Society holds activities at Pustaka Miri

KUCHING: Pustaka Miri is organising several public activities to be held throughout this month in collaboration with the Malaysian Nature Society (MNS) Miri Branch and Piasau Camp Miri Nature Park Society.

Beginning from now till Dec 11, an exhibition themed “Enchanting Piasau Camp: A Nature Park in The City for Mirians” are being held at the library’s ground floor foyer.

It is open for the public during Pustaka Miri’s daily operating hours except public holidays.

The exhibition will feature photographs taken around Piasau Camp, which is famously known for being the habitat for the rare and protected Oriental Pied hornbills as well as other species of animals.

Other than the photographs, posters and write-ups on the hornbills and other birds, as well as animals, flowers and plants would also be put on display.

On Nov 16, a Drawing and Colouring Contest would be held in line with the exhibition.

To be divided two age-group categories, it will start at 9am at the library’s first floor foyer.

Also on the same date, a talk facilitated by Miri MNS chairman Musa Musbah on Piasau Camp and its hornbills would be conducted in the AV Room at 10am.

There will be no admission charge for all the activities.
