Council files police report to clear its name

THE Penang Municipal Council (MPPP) has lodged a police report following allegations by an advertising company that it had been allowed to put up banners prior to the issuance of a permit by the council.

MPPP secretary Ang Aing Thye said there was no truth to the news reports in several Chinese dailies quoting the company that a worker from the council had allowed its banners to be put up.
