IT WILL be a solemn Deepavali for the residents of Taman Permata, Dengkil as they gather on the eve today to light oil lamps in a symbolic gesture to make their plight be known to all.
As they light the oil lamps in the darkness of their tents, they hope their lives will change for the better and the Festival of Lights, which marks the victory over evil, will brighten their lives.
