MMEA detains Liberian ship for illegal anchoring


No stopping: The foreign registered vessel detained by the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) for illegally anchoring in Malaysian waters.

JOHOR BARU: The Malaysians Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) detained a foreign-registered vessel some 2.6 nautical miles south-east of Tanjung Piai waters in Pontian for anchoring without proper authorisation.

Johor Baru MMEA enforcement chief Kapt Aminuddin Abd Rashid said that the Liberian-registered vessel was spotted when the agency was conducting a patrol near the location at around 3.55pm on Saturday.
