Fresh faces dominate

NEW faces dominated the Umno polls at the Wanita, Youth and Puteri levels in Perak.

State Umno secretary Datuk Khusairi Abdul Talib revealed that more than half of the newly-elected committee members of the three wings were new faces.

“We have many new faces in various posts, including that of chief and vice-chief,” he told reporters in Ipoh.

He said 13 out of 24 Wanita division chiefs in the state were new.

They are Rosmaizar Mat Ali (Lenggong), Norsalewati Mat Norwawi (Parit Buntar), Zarina Abdol Majid (Bagan Serai) and Nolee Ashilin Mohammed Radzi (Kampar), all of whom won uncontested.

In divisions where there was contest for the top Wanita post, new faces who took the lead were Saliza Ahmad (Larut), Sharifah Nor Hashimah (Ipoh Barat), Hafsah @ Puteh Idris (Batu Gajah), Aishah Halid (Kuala Kangsar), Juliliyana Mohd Junid (Gopeng), Datuk Dr Wan Norashikin Wan Noordin (Pasir Salak), Aminah Abdul Manaf (Bagan Datok), Zainun Ahmad (Telok Intan) and Salabiah Awang (Bukit Gantang).

Meanwhile, incumbents who survived were state Wanita chief Datuk Rusnah Kassim (Tanjung Malim), Azizah Johor (Lumut), Rohana Yaacob (Tapah), Salmah Sojak (Beruas), Masarah Abdullah (Ipoh Timur), Puizah Abu Kassim (Tambun), Datuk Siti Salmah Mat Jusak (Padang Rengas), Salmiah Sutan Taharuddin (Gerik), Yatimah Khalid (Taiping), Sharifah Mohd Tamin (Sungai Siput) and Asmah Laily Abd Rahman (Parit).

According to Khusairi, 17 out of 24 newly-elected division Youth chiefs in the state were also new faces.

The 17 are Shahril Azmir Ahmad Shaffie (Taiping), Mohamad Ziad Mohamed Zainal Abidin (Tambun), Mohd Sharizal Abdul Alibu (Beruas), Mohd Rizairi Jamaluddin (Gerik), Mohd Amran Abdul Rahman (Larut), Mua’amar Ghadafi Jamal Jamaludin (Parit Buntar), Ahmad Kamel Mat Arshad (Bukit Gantang), Mohd Arrif Abdul Majid (Padang Rengas), Mohd Husnuz Zaim Mohd Padil (Sungai Siput), Mohd Hakim Mohd Yusoff (Batu Gajah), Mustafa Shah Abdul Hamid (Kuala Kangsar), Rafidi Mohd Razali (Kampar), Mohamad Adli Mohd Tahiruddin (Gopeng), Safri Mohamad Salih (Tapah), Faizal Tajuddin (Pasir Salak), Nik Mohammad Nik Ariffin (Bagan Datok) and Zamanhuri Yaakob (Telok Intan).

Meanwhile, incumbents who retained their Youth chief posts in their respective divisions include Hairul Anwar Mohamed Noor (Ipoh Timur), Khairul Shahril Mohamed (Parit), Mohd Shahril Yahya @ Yahuza (Lumut) and Mohamad Amin Othman (Tanjung Malim).

Incumbent division Youth chiefs Mohamad Iruan Zulkefli (Lenggong), Nazirul Jamaluddin (Bagan Serai) and Syamsul Baharin Putra Ahmad Shibi (Ipoh Barat) won uncontested.

On the Puteri front, the chiefs of 16 out of 24 divisions were new faces, said Khusairi.

They are Juraidah Ismail (Larut), Rosnita Kadir Maidin (Taiping), Suzmaniza Sulaiman (Padang Rengas), Iylia Ainuddin (Tambun), Mursyidah Jaeszan (Ipoh Timur), Emillia Abd Rahim (Kampar), Suzana Osman (Gopeng), Suhaili Suib (Pasir Salak), Rafidah Mat Shafiei (Lumut), Rohana Tarmizi (Bagan Datok), Nur Farah Diba Mohammad Sadri (Lenggong), Mohanhaslinda Muhamad Darus (Parit Buntar), Norhasimah Samsuri (Bagan Serai), Nurdiyana Musfirah Hadhri (Beruas), Suriyana Saari (Parit) and Zuzaiti Md Zakaria (Tanjung Malim).

Incumbent chiefs who retained their posts were Salbiah Mohamed (Gerik), Jamilah Zakaria (Bukit Gantang), Isfarina Mohd Bali (Ipoh Barat), Nor Fazila Saaidun Razali (Batu Gajah), Nurul Huda Nordin Ahmad (Tapah), Norazryna Mohd Jainuri (Telok Intan), Ramfizah Ramli (Sungai Siput) and Nurul Azni Bani Ami (Kuala Kangsar).
