HEAVY rains that lasted for hours flooded several low-lying areas in Bayan Lepas and Balik Pulau in Penang.
Among the worst hit areas were Kampung Pulau Betong and Kampung Nelayan Teluk Kumbar where villagers were seen moving their belongings to higher ground as the water level rose to 1.5m.
