Petronas puts RM1bil terminal project on hold after Lahad Datu incident

KUCHING: The planned RM1bil regasification terminal at Sabah’s east coast has been put on hold by Petronas after the Lahad Datu intrusion in February.

Malaysia LNG group managing director Zakaria Kasah confirmed this on Friday. He said the armed conflict where nine Malaysian policemen and soldiers and six civilians were killed had affected plans to build the key infrastructure, which was supposed to be ready by 2015.
