MAKESHIFT stalls decorated with yellow flags, banners and buntings, and selling a variety of vegetarian food have sprouted at various places in the state for the Nine Emperor Gods Festival, which starts today.
Also known as Kew Ong Yeah, the festival begins on the first day of the ninth lunar month and during this period, Taoism followers will observe strict vegetarian diet for nine days.
