Dayang appoints accountant as non-independent, non-executive director


KUCHING: Dayang Enterprise Holdings Bhd has appointed chartered accountant Wong Ping Eng as a non-independent and non-executive director.

Wong, 40, who has more than 15 years experience in the financial and accounting field, started her career as an audit assistant in KPMG here in 1997, according to a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday.

She later joined Naim Holdings Bhd as an accountant, and worked her way up as the property developer’s deputy managing director.

Naim is Dayang’s single largest shareholder, with a 33.64% stake as at April 30. Its managing director Datuk Hasmi Hasan is Dayang’s chairman.

Meanwhile, Naim has appointed Soedirman Aini, 57, as an independent and non-executive director, and a member of its audit committee.

Soedirman is currently State Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) general manager. He is a former Industrial Deve-lopment Ministry’s permanent secretary and has served as the deputy state financial secretary and state accountant-general as well as Amanah Saham Sarawak Bhd chief executive officer.

He is also a director of Sarawak Consolidated Industries Bhd.

Separately, TH Plantations Bhd has appointed former senior general manager (plantation controller for Sarawak operations) Radin Rosli Radin Suhadi as the company’s new chief operations officer (domestic) effective yesterday.

He takes over from Mat Saad Ramli, who has retired.
