MIRI: Brunei’s Fakhrul Razi, who shone at the World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA) in Hollywood earlier this year, will perform at the Asia Music Festival (AMF) at Eastwood Valley Golf and Country Club this Friday and Saturday.
The artiste started writing songs when he was 14 years old and he has performed in numerous shows and events in Brunei and abroad since 2004.
He is also a TV host, a radio announcer and one of the most sought emcees in Brunei.
Fakrul had impressed the judges and crowd at WCOPA as he won gold medals in the R&B/Jazz, Original Works and Open Vocal (Male) categories.
He also won two silver medals for the broadway and pop categories.
At AMF, Fakrul will be performing to-gether with Camouflage, a local band from Miri.
Besides Fakrul, there will be seven other international bands performing at AMF, namely Bembol Rockers (the Philippines), VSTAR featuring Kamal Musallam (South Korea), Anthony Dassan Yen Party Band (South India),Orkes Soesah Tideor (Indonesia), Foxy Girls (Indonesia), Boy Thai Band (Thailand) and Tritha (North India).
The Malaysian performers and bands taking part are Melissa Francis, Starlet Band, The Mountain Wind Band, Hevance Band and Bob from Akademi Fantasia.
Tickets to the festival are still available at all Sarawak Tourism Board office and Visitors Information Centre at Old Court House, Kuching (082-410 944), Jalan Melayu, Miri (085-434180) and Jalan Tukang Besi, Sibu (084-340980), Curtin University Sarawak Campus and Eastwood Valley Golf and Country Club (085-421010).
The tickets are priced at RM30 for adults and RM15 for children or students aged three to 18 (identification required during entry).
