City unveils iconic landmark to commemorate S’wak’s golden jubilee


KUCHING: The Kuching City North Commission (DBKU) has unveiled a landmark specially dedicated to mark the 50th anniversary of Sarawak’s independence in Malaysia.

Located at the Datuk Patinggi Abang Haji Abdillah roundabout near Wisma Bapa Malaysia here, the structure depicts a pair of hands holding up the 50th year logo, which is shaped to resemble the head of a hornbill. The hands signifies the undivided support from the people of various backgrounds in Sarawak, who are living in peace and harmony.
