Pangkor Islanders use incinerator to dispose of solid waste

Brand new: The Pangkor Island incineration plant is located in Teluk Cempedak and is capable of combusting up to 20 tonnes of municipal solid waste a day.

WITH no space for a landfill, locals at Pangkor Island have been relying on an incineration plant to take care of their solid waste disposal for over a year.

The incineration plant, constructed by XCN Technology Sdn Bhd, was handed over to the Housing and Local Government Ministry in June 2011 and commenced operations in January 2012.
