RM62mil compensation from Australian government a boost for Ta Ann


KUCHING: The receipt of RM62mil (AUD20.3mil) in compensation from the Australian government for the surrender of wood supply entitlement has lifted Ta Ann Holdings Bhd’s quarterly earnings.

In the second quarter to June 30, 2013 (2Q13), Ta Ann’s group pre-tax profit more than doubled to RM38.2mil from RM17.9mil in 2Q12, with group revenue increased to RM199.9mil from RM187.9mil. Earnings per share rose to 6.53 sen from 3.59 sen.
