Bukit Bintang Rotarians gather to install new board of directors

ROTARIAN H. Munjit Singh Sidhu was installed as the president of the Rotary Club of Bukit Bintang RI District 3300, together with 15 officers and board of directors for the August 2013 to August 2014 term.

The Rotarians also came together to celebrate the 23rd anniversary of the club’s charter as a member of Rotary International.

District governor Datuk Dr Mohinder Singh and his wife Datin Helen Wong performed the installation in front of about 600 people.

The event includes Rotarians from Hong Kong, Japan, Nepal, the Philippines, Taiwan and Thailand.

Munjit’s team now includes immediate past president Yap Fatt Lam, president-elect and director of public relations Eric Tan, honourable treasurer Wilson Tan, membership development director Philip Wong, honorary secretary Tan Ooi Kim and other directors, namely Lim Kian Ming, Jenny Choong, Christine Toh, Terrenz Soo, Janis Chong, Irene Yew, Lim Siew Kim, John Tan and sergeant-at-arms Brian Soon and Mary Thong.

Munjit, 42, a lawyer, said he was honoured to be given the privilege to serve such a great club with fellow Rotarians who had given their unfailing support to numerous projects to help the underprivileged.

“As Rotarians, we share a common vision and goal towards improving the lives of the needy, as much and as far as we can, sacrificing a part of ourselves towards this commitment.

“I will be in the front to lead the members in making a difference to the lives of people around us who are in dire need of our service,” he said.
