SIBU: The Asia Pacific Young Active Citizen Forum (APYACF) is expected to attract 500 delegates from across the region.
Organised by Junior Chamber International (JCI) Mandarin Sibu, the two-day event will take place at Kingwood Hotel here from Aug 31 to Sept 1.
JCI national president Kim Tan said delegates from China, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, India, Indonesia, Cambodia, Thai- land, Vietnam and Hong Kong were expected to attend this year’s forum themed, “Young people in action for creating a sustainable future”.
Tan also said the forum would provide a platform for the young to share their views and concerns with each other on issues related to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and individual social responsibility (ISR).
“It will raise the awareness among young people of the importance of CSR and ISR towards creating positive change, fostering knowledge exchange between peers around the region and engaging young people to explore possible solutions for the creation of a sustainable future,” he said at a press conference here yes- terday.
He said APYACF had been recognised as a significant social responsibility forum slated for young people across the Asia Pacific.
Tan also said the resolutions of the forum would be submitted to JCI Global Partnership Summit to be held at United Nations headquarters in New York.
Speakers at the forum include those from the Prime Minister’s Department, Global Compact Local Network, CSR Asia, Harada Kogyo Co Ltd and Fuji Xerox.
