KUCHING: A carpenter was found hanged in his house near Kampung Haji Drahman, Jalan Foochow here with both of his hands tied.
Mohamad Qhairool Pauzia, 23, who was from Beladin, did not come to work at 7am yesterday.
His employer, who is also his uncle, felt it was unusual for Qhairool to be late.
He then went to his nephew’s house around 7.40am but when he arrived there, he saw that the front door was locked from inside. He had to force his way in.
Qhairool was found in the living room on the upper floor, hanged with a nylon rope and both of his hands were tied with shoe- laces.
The police were informed and a forensics team was despatched to the scene. According to a police spokesman, Qhairool’s hands were loosely tied. There was also no sign of foul play in the house as everything was neat and tidy.
“We cannot ascertain anything regarding the man’s death before the post mortem,” the spokesman said.
Qhairool’s was later brought to Sarawak General Hospital mortuary in a police truck.
Close family members of the deceased who are currently in Betong have been informed of the case. They are expected to be at the mortuary soon.
