U Mobile and BChannel to provide ad content

U Mobile Sdn Bhd is partnering Berjaya Channel Sdn Bhd (BChannel) in powering 1,000 digital TV screens across the Klang Valley, Selangor, Pahang and Negri Sembilan with high speed mobile internet to broaden its hold in its enterprise, business-to-business and SME business portfolios.

This partnership entails the use of U Mobile E28 plan and the telco’s broadband dongles in providing the wireless broadband data connectivity to deliver the advertisement content on the BChannel digital screens.

These screens will be carrying advertisements and creative developed by subsidiaries within the Berjaya Group, U Mobile and other participating vendors which will be featured in restaurants, convenience stores, malls, pharmacies and other retail outlets.

“We are proud to be chosen as the connectivity partner in powering BChannel across the nation and it is proof of U Mobile’s strength in the application of our 3G data backbone in supporting the retail industry,” said U Mobile marketing director Jasmine Lee.

“The 1,000 targeted high traffic locations are all equipped with 40 inch commercial grade display screens and thin client from HP which serves as the media player” said BChannel general manager Daniel Cheah.

BChannel will start off the first phase of implementation with 1,000 screens and is currently working on deploying more sites to provide further coverage to other high-traffic areas in the country.
