WHEN Malaysian company Impiana Group thought of building its first resort abroad, they considered Phuket in southern Thailand as an ideal location.
The group, which is active in the hospitality sector, acquired a three-star hotel and rebranded it into a four-star boutique resort some 15 years ago.
