Swoop on errant taxi drivers

Brought to heel: All the taxis nabbed were brought to the Jalan Tun H.S. Lee Traffic Police Station.

IN an effort to reduce the number of errant taxi drivers in the city, 15 taxis were caught for multiple offences, including refusing to use the meter, under Ops Tegas that was carried out in various parts of Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday.

The four-hour operation, mounted by the Royal Malaysian Police, Kuala Lumpur City Hall, Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) and the Road Transport Department took place at popular tourists hubs such as Jalan Bukit Bintang and KLCC.
