IT was a solemn morning as over 100 locals, foreign servicemen, war veterans and family members honoured those who sacrificed their lives during the Malayan Emergency at a memorial service at God’s Little Acre cemetery in Batu Gajah.

Three British planters – John Allison, Arthur Walker and Ian Christian – were among those buried, including soldiers and other civilians who died during the Emergency.
