THE Father’s Day photo contest themed “Dad, My Time Tested Hero”, received an overwhelming response with more than 900 entries.

Tissot marketing and merchandising manager Cally Chew said there was a lot of variety in the entries.

“The contestants put in a lot of effort and it will be difficult to select the best.

A total of 25 entries were shortlisted by a panel of judges and 17 were selected based on creativity, originality of caption as well as overall appearance of the photos.

The grand-prize winner Mohd Hilmin Mohamad won the judges’ heart with a photo of him tying his father’s shoelaces. He wins a Tissot T035, a 3D/2N stay for two at Pangkor Laut Resort and Habib jewellery, worth RM20,250 in total.

First-prize winner Noel Xavier Kandis won himself a Tissot T044, 3D/2N stay for two at KL Majestic Hotel and Habib jewellery, all worth RM14,200.

Second-prize winner Tun Kamalul Zaman took home prizes worth RM7,999, comprising a Tissot T026, a Samsung 4G CB and Habib jewellery. Third-prize winner Ng Boon Ching won a Tissot T026 and a Samsung 4G CB, altogether worth RM4,749.

Nine consolation prize winners were also announced.

Contestants were required to send in a photo showing a memorable moment with their father and dedicate a message in not more than 15 words.

Also on the panel of judges were YTL Communications Sdn Bhd (YES) marketing communications assistant vice-president Wong Pu Nie, The Star senior features editor Ann Marie Chandy and photo editor Ng Kok Leong.

Prizes are sponsored by Tissot Swiss Watches, YES and Habib Jewellery.
