THE Environment Department (DoE) in Putrajaya had earlier rejected the Detailed Environ-mental Impact Assessment (DEIA) submitted by project proponent EKVE Sdn Bhd on two occasions — Feb 22 and June 26, 2012 — before finally giving the approval on April 25.
Director-general Datuk Halimah Hassan said the department only gave its approval after it was satisfied with the additional assessment and information submitted, which met the requirements of Section 34A(2) of the Environmental Quality Act 1974.
