Man caught for bogus club membership sale


MUAR: An unemployed man was charged in two magistrate’s courts here for trying to sell bogus memberships to an association under the patronage of the Sultan of Johor.

Lau Kok Chai, 65, claimed trial to inducing Chin Song to pay RM1,000 for a membership card purportedly issued by Pertubuhan Perpaduan Amal Negeri Johor (PERAJA), which Lau claimed was an association under the patronage of the Johor Sultan and would entitle cardholders to special perks.
