Explain sky-high road cost, state govt told


GEORGE TOWN: Penang Barisan Youth has taken the state government to task for proposing to build a road that will cost 380% more that a similar project by its federal counterpart.

The wing’s information chief H’ng Khoon Leng said the recently completed RM42mil Teluk Kumbar-Pekan Genting road straightening and widening project was much cheaper than the state’s proposed RM586.2mil 12km Tanjung Bungah-Teluk Bahang paired road.
