Bid to ferry drugs into Langkawi foiled


ALOR SETAR: A drug syndicate that hoodwinked the authorities by hiding drugs in cars which were then ferried by barges to Langkawi, was busted when police arrested one of the members and seized RM42,000 worth of drugs.

State narcotics chief Supt Abd Razak Md Zin said the 48-year-old suspect was arrested while busy packing the drugs into plastic bags at a homestay premises in Padang Matsirat in Langkawi.
