Sunway bus-LRT hybrid to ease traffic jams

WITH all the hype on the MRT and LRT, there has been another “RT” that is in the works that has been receiving less attention. In fact, it has been named by transport experts as a more affordable and efficient public transport system that is increasingly being explored worldwide, from Jakarta and Bangkok to Curitiba in Brazil.

We are talking about the BRT, or bus rapid transit. While the MRT will have an impact along the corridor between Kajang and Sungai Buloh, and the LRT extension appreciated from Kelana Jaya and Bukit Jalil to Putra Heights, the BRT will run through Bandar Sunway. This township otherwise would not benefit from the LRT extension which passes through Subang Parade.
