Peace ladies geared to combat crime


SIX senior women police officers have been appointed as ‘Peace Ladies’ or in the local lingo — “amanita” to engage women in fighting crime in Penang.

State police chief Dep Comm Datuk Abdul Rahim Hanafi handed over watikah (letter of authority) to ASP M. Selvi, ASP Baeyah Abd Wahab, ASP L. Chandkumary, Insp Rani Puteri Sharif, Insp Teh Teng Ai and Insp Noor Edura Che Hassan.
