PRICES of imported vegetables rose sharply during the Chinese New Year, while the locally produced greens were also costlier.
Wholesaler Chai Chuen Tat, 42, said the demand for imported vegetables such as cauliflowers from Australia and Chinese leek, commonly used in cooking of Chinese sausages and roast pork, had exceeded supply.
