GEORGE TOWN: An 82-year-old man has been charged with violating an eight-year-old girl with a foreign object and then scalding the victim’s father with hot water.
Teh Hup Seng (pic) is accused of committing both offences at an apartment in Mutiara Idaman Dua in Jelutong on the night of Jan 16.
The child and her father, both Pakistanis, are believed to have been neighbours of Teh who pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Sessions Court set bail at RM20,000 while a magistrate’s court here set a RM2,500 bail for the attack on the victim’s father.
Teh was charged under Section 377C and Section 377E of the Penal Code for committing carnal intercourse against the order of nature without consent and inciting a child under the age of 14 into an act of gross indecency.
In a separate case, a 33-year-old security guard was sentenced to five months in prison after pleading guilty to voluntarily causing hurt to his 11-year-old daughter with a crash helmet.
Muhammad Syafi Satianadan pleaded guilty to the charge under Section 324 of the Penal Code in front of magistrate Norhayati Ibrahim.
The offence took place at about 12.30pm on Oct 19 last year.
During mitigation, it was disclosed that Muhammad Syafi had been convicted of a similar offence in 2008 under the same Penal Code section.
