IN LIGHT of the recent announcement made by Federal Territory and Urban Wellbeing Minister Datuk Raja Nong Chik Raja Zainal Abidin on standardised parking rates and reserved parking for women, Malaysia Shopping Malls Association (PPKM) would like to express its view on the above matter in the shopping complex context.
While PPK understands the rationale of standardising parking rates and acknowledges DBKL’s right to regulate through by-laws, we opine that as with any free enterprise, it will be better for market forces to determine the rates along the fundamental principle of supply and demand.
