Event management software expected to hit RM2mil target for start-up company

Y US Sdn Bhd, a two-year-old MSC-status start-up, is hopeful of achieving a revenue target of RM2mil next year following a strong surge in demand locally and abroad for its event management software known as “Evenesis”.

Y Us chief executive officer Yusno Yunos expressed confidence that the four-fold growth in its projected revenue for 2013 would come from the company’s ability to grow in the Asean region.

An incubatee at Technology Park Malaysia’s Incubation and Innovation Centre at Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, Y Us successfully developed and launched the award-winning Evenesis software to the local MICE industry in 2011.

Evenesis, which is locally developed, offers a comprehensive suite of solutions to its users. It is the first cloud-based software of its kind that caters to the needs of event planners, conference and exhibition organisers, corporations and small- and medium-sized enterprises,

Yusno said the growing local market acceptance of Evenesis has been overwhelming, and at the same time, it has now expanded into Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.

“Since its introduction late last year, we have received very positive feedback from our local and overseas business partners. Currently, we have been able to customise the software in local languages for Thailand, the Philippines and Vietnam,” added Yusno.

As the first mover in the region, Y Us has now captured a sizeable customer list of some 20 corporate clients, 50 SMEs and 1,500 individuals (who are on Web trials) in the short span of less than two years.

Excited with the strong potential of Evenesis, Yusno said that while the top priority would be to concentrate on the local market, he is also eyeing the Asia-Pacific and Gulf regions.

“The regional market is huge and this has inspired us to continuously develop new products to meet the increasing demand. Currently, we are negotiating with several interested parties who are keen to become our business partners in their respective markets,” he said.

Having invested about RM200,000 in research and development for Evenesis at Technology Park Malaysia (TPM), Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur since 2010, Yusno said his company would continue to invest about 10% of its annual revenue for R&D efforts.

“We are grateful to the management of TPM for their guidance and support which enables us to access the market and funding from the Government’s Cradle Fund. Our accomplishment in developing such a unique product provides a harmonious blend of feature-richness and a user-friendly system to accommodate every aspect of events management,” he said.

Evenesis fully utilises and integrates augmented reality technology in its core product — a technology which could dramatically increase the effectiveness of all events, promotions and marketing efforts.

Based on a Microsoft platform, Evenesis offers comprehensive end-to end features that covers event management processes such as event planning, scheduling, invitations (SMS, emails and letters), guest management, floor-plan design and layout, seating arrangement, on-the-day check-in/registration, pre-and-post event surveys and venue management.

The software is also affordable since it is served on the cloud using a pay-per-use model where the user is charged on a per-event basis.

The all-inclusive application won the MSC Malaysia Apicta Award 2011 as the best of applications and infrastructure tools.

In addition, Evenesis was nominated in the list of Asia’s Top 50 Apps and also selected as one of the products to be showcased in Singapore Telecommunications Ltd’s six.sg platform.

It is also among the pioneers of TM’s Elite Partner in which Evenesis is being distributed under Telekom Malaysia’s BizApp Store where Y Us is available to more than 400,000 SMEs in Malaysia.

Recently, Y Us was chosen as one of the the Top 15 Companies under the Coach & Grow Programme (CGP) 2011/2012 organised by Cradle Fund Sdn Bhd. It is among 60 companies selected for the first batch of the CGP for the Go Global programme for one year.

To continuously maintain its marketing awareness, Y Us will be launching the Evenesis Hobnob Programme starting next month. This monthly event involves an informal gathering/networking session with mini workshops and hands-on activities to educate and excite companies and individuals on the use of the company’s event management system.
