All together now: Some of the participants in the mass tang yuan eating session at Chempaka Buddhist Lodge.

CHEMPAKA Buddhist Lodge successfully entered the Malaysia Book of Records by organising the “Largest Participation in a Tang Yuan (Glutinous Rice Ball) Eating Session” in Petaling Jaya recently.

The event, launched by Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Donald Lim Siang Chai, was the first of its kind in Malaysia. It saw more than 1,200 people consuming tang yuan, a traditional Chinese dessert of glutinous rice balls served in sweet broth.
