FOUR premises were raided in a recent operation to remove unlicensed billboards by the Klang Municipal Council (MPK).

MPK public relations officer Norfiza Mahfiz said the operation was carried out on the premises owners for failing to comply with orders to remove their billboards.

According to Norfiza, the owners of the premises were given a 14-day notice to bring down their billboards.

“A second notice was issued and the council found that many were still stubborn, hence stern action had to be taken to ensure that no one went against the by-laws.

“Thirty council officers and staff were involved in the operation which began at 9am.

“We will continue with enforcement from time to time,” she said.

Also involved in the operation were the departments of Licensing, Enforcement, Engineering and Environmental Services and the police.
