ASTRO has been honoured with four major television promotion awards at the annual PromaxBDA Asia 2012 award ceremony held in Singapore last week, including the highly coveted Rocket Award for the best young promotions producer in the Asia region, which was handed Mohd Radzi Rajudin.
“This is the sixth year in a row that one of Astro’s promotions producers has been recognised as the best new talent in Asia,” Astro creative director Rob Middleton said.
“While I’m very proud of all our producers, this is the icing on the cake.
“These awards cover the whole of Asia, not just Malaysia. Six years in a row really says something about the quality of our team and Astro itself.
“Combined with last week’s awards from New York for best sports marketing in the world, I would say that we are having a nice early Christmas,” he added.
Astro won Gold in the Best Entertainment/Variety Promotion category for Astro Ria’s Money Drop Malaysia and Gold in Best Public Service Announcement for itsSaving Energy-The Future Investment promotion.
The company was also awarded Silver under the Best Holiday Promotion category for Astro Hari Raya 2012and Best Public Service Announcement for its Eat Healthy, Live Healthy, Processed Beauty promotion.
Astro also celebrated its achievements in the global sports media marketing competition, the 2012 PromaxBDA Sports Media Marketing Awards held in New York, taking home three Gold awards and one Silver award for its UEFA Euro 2012 and London 2012 Olympics Games promotions.
“I have always said our guys were the best around. Now the rest of the world knows it too.
“While Astro is a wonderful working environment and our fantastic content may seem to almost promote itself, it is nice to know our peers in the industry recognise us for our efforts,” said Middleton.
