Crashing for safety’s sake

Safety first: The effectiveness of airbags is also tested as airbags helps reduce injuries to the driver and front passenger in a collision.

AS part of the new Asean New Car Assessment Programme (NCAP), the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety (Miros) performed its first ever crash test at its crash facility in Malacca.

Using a Honda City sponsored by Honda Malaysia, the speed of the crash test was recorded at 63.6kph, which is very close to the Euro NCAP-specified 64km/h.
